The Afghan Ambassador to the United Nations, Zahir Tanin, said the proxy war between the India and the Pakistan was not good for his nation. He said his nation needed cooperation from both countries and that it was both difficult and not possible to choose from India and Pakistan. He said his nation had historical and cultural relations with both the nations.
“If there is any idea of a proxy war, it is not helpful and it has no future. Kabul is not going to tolerate it and I do not think that the majority of Afghans can support that…” The Afghan ambassador said. “The three countries, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, have been working closely together at various international fora, including United Nations, in a wide range of issues,” he added.
