Bombay High Court Granted Anticipatory Bail To Adnan Sami

He will also have to surrender his passport after his next week’s foreign tour. Sessions court had last week rejected Sami’s anticipatory bail application, but granted anticipatory bail to his parents.

He later moved High Court. Sami’s wife Saba Galadari had filed complaint with the suburban Oshiwara police station alleging that he was subjecting her to cruelty and was blackmailing her.

She alleged that Adnan possessed a VCD and some photographs which showed her in compromising position and had threatened to circulate them if she did not return the flats he had gifted her. Prosecution, as well as Saba’s own lawyer argued in the High Court that police needed to question Adnan to find out the photographs.

However, Sami’s lawyers Vibhav Krishna and Amit Desai said that there were no such photographs and the VCD has been deposited with the sessions court, they said. Justice Mrudula Bhatkar, while granting anticipatory bail to Adnan, noted that there was only “apprehension” of misuse of alleged photos, not any actual instance.
