China is determined to finalize its three-stage Lunar Probe Program before the end of year 2016. The first stage included the launching of Chang’e – 1 lunar orbiter and it was performed successfully back in 2007. Work is going on on the second and the third stages. Chang’e – 2 is expected to be launched in 2012. The satellite will deploy moon rovers for surface exploration. This will follow a flight of an automated space vehicle to Moon and its return in 2016.
