DOTS Scheme Launched For TB Patient In Arunachal

tanagar: Gaining the opportunity to be the first state in northeast, Arunachal Pradesh has launched Directly Observed Treatment Service (DOTS) for treatment of patients suffering Multi Drug Resistance (MDR) tuberculosis.
The service was started at DOTS plus site in Arunachal state hospital at Naharlagun. State director of health services Dr K Nishing inaugurated the programme. And distributed DOTS Plus (CAT IV) medicine to two patient, suffering from MDR TB, who were admitted to newly constructed DOTS plus ward in hospital.
Later this service will be introduced in Assam, Manipur and Sikkim very soon. In this service MDR medicines will be available for patients for 24 to 27 months will get the facility of free checkups.
