The Taliban have attacked again in Kandahar killing 35 people, including 13 police officers. Seven massive explosions, two of which were suicide car bomb attacks rocked the city on Saturday. One of the explosions killed ten people who were attending a wedding party. It is the biggest attack on the Karzai Government in the past eight years. Some say it is in response to the US General Stanley McChrystal’s pledge to drive the Taliban out of Kandahar. Kandahar has been a historic base of the Taliban. Operation Moshtarak, a joint US-Afghanistan military initiative, took back Marjah in Helmand province.
